Beginners Beekeeping Course

April 21, 2018 - April 22, 2018

Fancy becoming a beekeeper in the lovely surroundings of Westport for the weekend?

Beekeeping is a great hobby while also being hugely beneficial for the environment. We depend on bees to pollinate our crops and of course provide us with some sweet treats. Bees are disappearing due to many threats such as Colony Collapse and Climate change so this is your chance to help out our buzzing friends while having some fun along the way!

Beekeeping Course 21st & 22nd of April 2018.

Saturday 9.00 am: Registration in reception area Teagasc Centre, Newport Road, Westport.

Saturday 9.30 am Course start – until 5.30pm, with breaks at 11 am and lunch.

All syllables of the course will be covered over the 2 days and course participants will be able to undertake the Preliminary Exam set out by F.I.B.K.A. (The Federation of Irish Beekeepers’ Associations) if you wish to sit the exam on Saturday 26th May, the cost is €20.
