The Westport Festival of Chamber Music 2019
September 13 - September 15
Classical music lovers, mark your diaries for the seventh Westport Festival of Chamber Music, which takes place in three wonderful venues around the town – Westport House, Westport Town Hall Theatre, and Holy Trinity Church.
The opening Friday-evening concert will see the music of Beethoven, Poulenc and Brahms performed in the stunning and stately Westport House. The magnificent Westport Town Hall Theatre is the perfect setting for Saturday’s three concerts when offerings include a clarinet trio by American composer Paul Schoenfield, as well as music by Mozart, Franck and more. Bach’s Goldberg Variations will be performed in Westport House on the Sunday morning, with the final concert taking place that afternoon in the gloriously gothic Holy Trinity Church, which will be filled with the music of Handel, Ravel, Beethoven and celebrated Irish composer Deirdre Gribbin.
Season tickets cost €120, while tickets can also be booked for individual concerts. Tickets and full programme details are available on www.westportchambermusic.ie.
