Roll Up to the Return of Fossett’s Circus

Last year, saw the return of Fossett’s Circus to Westport House following a long absence – since way back when they used to provide the animals to the Westport House Zoo a million years ago! Now in 2015, the Fossett family are delighted to present one of their strongest productions in recent years featuring foot jugglers, acrobats, aerialists, ponies, chair balancing and hand voltage from all over the world! The Big Top will be in the Farmyard of Westport House from September 30 to October 4th inclusive. Admission Prices start at €10 per child and €12 for adults. More info @ Westport House

Head West for two-time winner of ‘Ireland’s Best Halloween’ Fest
Rumours abound of ghoulish goings on at the historic Westport House as the two-time winner of “Best Halloween Event” in the West returns from October 24th to 31st. The 18th century historic house will be transformed into a (not too) scary haunted house – suitable for little ones. The house is full of freakish family fun with the White Witch’s & her story time, ghastly face painting, Jack O’Lantern carving (€2.50 per pumpkin), learn the dance moves in Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” music video, Creepy Kiddies Disco and the Spooky Spoons Workshop. Enjoy a taste of the Pirate Adventure Park rides with the Swinging Pirate Ship, the Log Flume Splash Ride and the Westport House Express (miniature railway)*. Westport House and the Halloween Fest workshops operate from 11am to 5pm daily and the rides are open from 1pm to 5pm daily. Spooky Train Tour – NEW!
It may look like a sweet little ride but don’t let the bright colours fool you! The Westport Train Tour will tell tales of not-too-spooky Irish ghosts and ghouls, the Irish origins of Halloween and its traditions. While we love a little scare, rest assured that the Spooky Train Tour will be suitable for little ones too. Pick up points at the town centre gate to Westport House and the Quay, Westport, with trains departing daily from October 24th to 31st from 11am to 2pm daily.

Winter Wonderland of the West

Make extra special memories in the lead up to this Christmas with a magical visit to the stunning and festive historic house of Westport House from November 28th onwards. Kids get to meet

Santa in his 18th century grotto, discuss their wish list and get a gift while parents enjoy a seasonal glass of mulled wine. The little ones will love special story-time with Mrs Claus in the Drawing Room before they decorate their own Yuletide log to take home for the Christmas table. Sing carols with the cheery elves, decorate Gingerbread Men and hop on board the Westport House Express. Winter Wonderland provides an ideal day out for all the family to get everyone in the spirit. Autumn Colours of Westport House & Gardens

Westport Train Tour

The Westport Train Tour will continue to run daily departures in September at 1pm, 2pm and 3pm including our new town centre stop at the Plaza Hotel.
