Hotel Westport voted one of the Top 10 Family Friendly Hotels in Ireland for a second year running

For the second year in a row, Hotel Westport has been voted one of Ireland’s top family-friendly hotels. Readers of Primary Times, the largest free family magazine and website in Ireland, voiced their views on the country’s most family-friendly firms and scored their favourites on customer service, facilities, choice and value for money.

The results are these unique awards, based on the votes of more than 2,000 people, provide a vital snapshot of what’s tops with families in a harsh economic climate – and give the worthy winners a well-deserved round of applause.

The family-owned 4-star Hotel Westport is one of the leading luxury hotels in County Mayo. Under the stewardship of Declan Heneghan the hotel has won a number of independent awards this year. This is the second consecutive year that Hotel Westport has been in the Top 10 Best Family Friendly Hotels in Ireland, and this year it is the only property in County Mayo to pick up the award.

Commenting on this latest achievement Mr Cathal Hughes, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Hotel Westport, said: “I am extremely pleased about the numerous great achievements at Hotel Westport recently, which include the Hotel Bar of the Year Award, an AA Rosette for Culinary Excellence, an All-Ireland Cocktail Making Champion, and now winning this latest award, The Primary Times Star Award for Top 10 Best Family Friendly Hotels in Ireland, two years in a row! It’s a fantastic achievement. I’m delighted!”.
