New Attractions at Westport House include Westport Train Tour, Birds of Prey Show and Outdoor Theatre

Westport house has introduced a range of new attractions for the 2014 seasons. These new additions to the home of family fun, Westport House and Pirate Adventure Park, add to the range of attractions available in the beautiful heritage setting that is suitable for everyone from 2 years to 92 years. The selection of outdoor amusements in the Pirate Adventure Park is sure to put a spring in your little ones’ step, as they hop from the Cannonball Run slide to the Pirates Swinging Ship and Pirates Plunge log flume ride, the giant Swan Pedaloe boats to the Westport House Express Train Ride. And for a dry option, try the indoor soft play and the indoor go-karting for the littler ones. There are plenty of fun adventure activities for all ages from zorbing to zip wire, archery tag, tree climbing and combat games. And of course the historic Westport House itself is most definitely worth a visit for all ages.

Fun, funky & educational – the Westport Train Tour

Immerse yourself in a fun and fact-filled journey through one of Ireland’s most beautiful towns and estates. Suitable for all the family, this trip will start and end at the newly opened Church Lane entrance to Westport House visiting 29 points of interest including Westport Quay and the Octagon and will last 45 minutes. The two main pick up points include Westport Quay or Church Lane gates to Westport House. Tickets are available to buy on train or at Westport House ticket offices and train users can avail of 10% off day tickets Westport House & Pirate Adventure Park. The Westport Train Tour will run daily in August & September. Pick up from town centre gate to Westport House at 30 minutes past the hour from 10:30am to 7:30pm each day and from Westport Quay at 50 minutes past the hour 10:50am to 8:50pm.

Birds of Prey Show

The Birds of Prey Show at Westport House is an exclusive educational and entertaining activity suitable for people of all ages, the ideal family attraction for visitors and tourists running from Sunday August 3rd until Tuesday August 26th 2014. Enjoy a dynamic and passionate show in the beautiful heritage setting of one of Europe’s most extensive farmyard buildings at Westport House. Meet Hugo the Peregrine Falcon, Arizona & Nevada the Harris Hawks, Oisin the baby Barn Owl and Gandalf the Great Grey Owl daily in a 45 minute educational and entertaining show featuring Ireland’s Birds of Prey.

Outdoor Theatre: Alice Through the Looking Glass

Enjoy an enchanted summer’s evening of outdoor entertainment in the beautiful grounds of Westport House. Quantum Theatre presents a brand new adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s timeless classic, Through The Looking Glass (and what Alice found there). Bring a picnic, your blanket and chill out with us from 7pm on August 18 & 19. Tickets on sale on www.westporthouse.ie or at ticket offices at Westport House.
