Rock Star Heads for the Sea2Summit

Westport Sea2Summit is the second largest Adventure Race in the country and this year Bressie is taking on the challenge. The Former Frontman of ‘The Blizzards’ and coach on ‘The Voice’ is heading for new heights as he tackles the Last Adventure Race of The Season on Saturday 9^th November in Westport, the best place to live in Ireland.

Having recently returned to his sporting roots Bressie has found the perfect combination in fitness & raising money for LARCC, this year’s charity partner.

Bressie will not be alone on the 9^th November as up to 1300 Adventure Racers are expected to compete in Westport Sea2Summit. Starting at the Westport Plaza & Castlecourt Hotel Resort, the race incorporates a mix of road running, cycling, & of course the hike up Croagh Patrick. Competitors have the choice of the Spirit Event (27km) or the Supreme Event (56km) and this year we are delighted to announce the addition of the Supreme Relay Event (56km).

Having recently competed in his first Triathlon, Bressie has now set his sights on his first Adventure Race and is looking forward to the challenge of Westport Sea2Summit, “ I really enjoyed my first Triathlon, the most challenging part been the swimming, and now I’m really looking forward to my first Adventure Race & training for Westport Sea2Summit. The challenge for me will definitely be Croagh Patrick, but bring it on “

This year’s charity partner is LARCC, the only Residential Cancer Care Facility in the country. As the Ambassador for LARCC Bressie is delighted to compete in Westport Sea2Summit and raise funds to support this vital service.

The LARCC Centre is a place of Retreat, Reflection & Recovery, who assist people with a cancer diagnosis and their supporters to cope with their illness. The Residential Programme within LARCC is designed to take clients on a person journey of relaxation, reflection & recovery by skilled therapists, nurses & councillors. The variety of therapies on offer & the ambiance of the centre provide clients with the opportunity to discuss their issues in a relaxed homely environment with staff members.
