As the summer holidays stretch out before us, most parents find themselves praying that we’ll be blessed with a lot more of the beautiful sunny weather we’ve had this past week. But in Ireland, one thing we can rely on is that you can’t rely on the weather. Luckily there are more and more all-weather friendly activities becoming available.

A perfect example is snorkelling, which is fast becoming a favourite watersport along the Irish western seaboard. Clew Bay has a beautiful and diverse underwater world that can be easily explored from relatively close to the coastline. And snorkelling is an excellent activity to help kids develop strong confidence in the water, along with a sound sense of safety, while having lots of fun.

Following last year’s popularity, Adventure West are offering Snorkelling Summer Camps at Old Head Beach again this summer – the last two weeks in July and first week in August. Each camp includes four days at Old Head and one on Clare Island.

The camps are open to children aged 8 to 17, but numbers are restricted due to instructor-child ratios. If you want to ensure your children are booked into an All-Irish-Summer-Weather camp that will keep them happy and active in the outdoors rain or shine, then call Louise on 087 3627828 to book. €100 per child, but the price drops to €80 for a second or third child. You can also enquire via email on info@adventurewest.ie.
