Westport Town Hall Theatre is a state-of-the-Art Cultural Centre showcasing the very best in performing arts and drama. This newly re-developed venue is equipped with a 225-seat auditorium with retractable seating, light, sound and projection systems with extensive dressing rooms, meeting rooms, green room and backstage and tech space. The facility is situated right on Westports Octagon, the town’s most central civic space and is within walking distance of all local amenities. The theatre also includes a fully-licensed bar and refreshments area which leads on to an impressive balcony which takes in impressive views of the Octagon and its impressive central surroundings.

Westport Town Hall successfully commissioned its own originally-produced resident show incorporating music, imagery, dance and theatrical performance telling the story and exploring the theories of Ireland’s Patron Saint – “Patrick”. This show ran weekly for July and August 2016,2017 and will return every Monday night for July and August 2018. The production has been widely highlighted as one that enhanced both local and visiting audience experience of the town and culture whilst also platforming the artistic talents of the shows local performers. Additionally as part of its Summer residency programme, Westport Town Hall are proud to host one of the most respected, internationally-renowned traditional Irish singer/songwriters, Seán Keane. Seán returns for every Wednesday night for Summer 2018 after a record-breaking 10-night residency back in 2017. The facility has also produced Westport’s first Children’s Arts Festival in 2017 and again in 2018. “MacLuí” (pronounced “moc-lee”) runs in March/April each year has been a hugely successful addition to the town’s events listing and offering to families living in and indeed visiting the area. The festival is already in place and planned to run again in mid-March 2019. The theatre works closely with surrounding service providers such as Destination Westport to ensure that the best possible experiences are offered to visitors to our town and County all year round.
