Date: 16 - 19 Mar

Join us for the annual St Patrick's festivities in Westport, Co. Mayo.

Westport is the place to be this Paddy's weekend with a series of traditional events and festivities that will take place from Thursday, March 16th through Sunday, March 19th, 2023.

Thursday, March 16th

We'll kick off the celebrations with a prelude of Traditional Sessions at some of Westport's best traditional bars on Thursday, March 16th.

Friday, March 17th

Join us at The Octagon for some amazing traditional music sessions with Westport Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, followed by our community parade at 1.15 pm, led by Grand Marshals, international champion boxers Shannon Sweeney and Laura Moran. After the parade, there will be fantastic open-air music with Ciaran O'Malley and Lisa Loughnane, and an amazing variety concert featuring the local Ukrainian Community together with the Westport Town Hall Community Choir.

And if you weren't in the pub drowning the shamrock already after the parade don't forget that Ireland will take on England in 6 Nations at 5pm. The match will be aired in many pubs around Westport.

Saturday, March 18th

There will be an open call for buskers to fill the Westport streets with music and craic. Performers interested can register at Westport Town Hall. Plus, don't miss the Pipers Trail, where Junior members of the Clew Bay Pipe Band will take you on a journey through the streets from The Mall to The Octagon. And, to top it all off, the legendary Shaskeen will be in concert at Westport Town Hall Theatre at 8.00 pm.

Sunday, March 19th

Bring the kids to enjoy Joe the Magician live at Westport Town Hall Theatre at 3.00 pm. And, throughout the weekend, you can also find tons of traditional music sessions in many of Westport's pubs.

And of course, it wouldn't be St Patrick's weekend without taking advantage of one of the best traditions in Westport, climbing Croagh Patrick!

This St. Patrick's Day, let's celebrate the rich culture of Ireland together in the shadow of Croagh Patrick.
