Testing Waters

Testing Waters is a new live performance collective, bringing stand-up comedy, music, and cabaret to Westport in partnership with the Mariner Hotel.

Thanks to funding from the Night Time Economy Support Scheme we’ll be trialing out a variety of gigs in September and October, and hopefully creating a new space for cultural events and late-night performances.

Our first three events will take place on the 22nd Sept, 29th Sept and 6th October, with something to suit all tastes (unless you like sports, then we’re sorry).

Get ready for Westport's first stand-up comedy night, kicking off Thursday, Sept 22nd. Our incredible lineup includes some of Ireland's best-established comedians alongside some incredible up & coming performers, including:

We’ve got some of Mayo’s best resident musicians coming together for a very special intimate performance on Sept 29th.

Each artist has been asked to choose from their favourite songs along the themes of love and heartbreak, with some space being given for improvised collaboration. This will be a warm hug of an evening, with some intimate, raw, experimental, and hopefully magic moments happening along the way.

The two closest frenemies around, Candy Warhol and Floozy, are back to terrorise and tantalise the town of Westport, along with some special friends. Get ready for an elegant, tasteful and downright intimate evening of cabaret, drag, comedy, burlesque and the ever dreaded audience participation piece.

We’ll be in the Mariner’s boat room this time round, so get ready to be up close and personal and please don’t stare at our make-up too closely.
