There are three Tiernaur loop walks, each beginning across from Nevin’s Newfield Inn, about 11 km (just under 7 miles) west of Newport on the Newport/Mulranny Road (N59). There is a mapboard beside the road, to the left, detailing all the walks. The Knockmanus Loop (green arrows) is the easiest and is 9km (5.6 miles) long. The Knockbreaga Loop (blue arrows) is a bit longer at 12km (7.5 miles) and the Glenthomas Loop (red arrows) is the longest and most difficult, at 16km (10 miles).
Each loop has fine views of Clew Bay to the south and the Nephin Beg range to the north, and the loops cross the Great Western Greenway four times.
A brochure with map is available here.
