Best known for its association with Saint Patrick, Ireland's patron saint, Croagh Patrick has been a pilgrimage destination since pre-Christian times.

There are three loop walks, each beginning from Nevins Newfield Inn, about 11km West of Newport. Each loop has fine views of Clew Bay and cross the Great Western Greenway four times.
