This revival is particularly poignant, marking 20 years since the group first staged the play, and following the recent passing of its beloved Mulranny playwright, Michael Joe Ginnelly in May 2025. It also comes on the heels of the group celebrating its 60th Anniversary, making this production a heartfelt tribute to both the enduring legacy of the play and the man behind it.
Dan McCabe - Live in Concert
Thursday November 27th 2025 at 8.00pm (Doors 7.30pm)
Dan McCabe burst onto the music scene in May 2020 when a single YouTube upload—his favourite songs arranged in his signature style—went viral, racking up over 50 million views in just three months. He has since established himself as one of Ireland’s most compelling voices, blending the soul of traditional Irish ballads with contemporary folk.
Today, McCabe is riding the momentum of his chart-topping releases and high-profile performances. His debut self-penned single, Heaven’s Only a Touch Away, shot to #1 in early 2023, and his first studio album, Back to Life (October 2024), also vaulted to #1 on the iTunes charts. Fresh off those successes McCabe is in the studio crafting new material and collaborating with songwriters across Europe and North America.

Westport Panto Cinderella & The Spare Prince by Brendan Williams
Westport Town Hall Theatre Community Pantomime Cinderella & The Spare Prince by Brendan Williams
Running for 7 shows only – Monday 29th December 2025 to Saturday 3rd January 2026
Westport Town Hall Theatre proudly presents its 8th Annual Pantomime "Cinderella & The Spare Prince", a brand-new, laugh-out-loud twist on the classic fairy tale, where the Spare Prince becomes the true hero, and Prince Charming… isn’t quite as charming as you remember!
Guided by two of the Palace’s most loyal staff, Mrs. Sure-Fire the Housekeeper and Frankie Valet, this retelling sparkles with all the fun, music, and mischief you’d expect — plus a few “Panto-fications” along the way. Cinderella still toils for the Ugli Sisters (whose mother has quite the way with Wordle), the Fairly Godmother is still in training, and the King’s obsession with local GAA knows no bounds. There’s a royal ball, a missing slipper, an evil Queen, and even a special appearance by Sir David Attenborough — Oh yes, there is!
**Note the performance at 2pm on Thursday January 1st will be a relaxed performance:
**Relaxed performance is in an effort to be more inclusive of people with additional needs such as learning disabilities or autism or simply anyone who would benefit from a more ambient environment. Slight changes to the production include aspects such as softer lighting, noise reduction and the expectation that some audience members may leave their seats to be somewhere more comfortable for their needs during the performance. We will have additional space outside of the Auditorium where some audience members might like to move to during the performance for some "chill-out" time.

On the surface, it seems that miserable farmers Paidi and Cass are best friends, but time will tell. Paidi has been given just six months left to live and decides to leave the land to Cass. Paidi's no-good brother Rooster is likely to cause problems but hopefully local solicitor Miss Murphy will sort everything out, with the help of the two nosey neighbours Mairead and Molly. This hilariously funny 3 act play is performed by the Leitrim based Acorn Players and written by John McManus.
