Situated in a 19th Century building, the Clew Bay Heritage Centre traces the history of Westport and the Clew Bay area from pre-christian times to the present.

Using a scale model of Westport, our guide will take you on a tour of the town and the Clew Bay area.
Hear the story of how Grainne Uaile, of the famous O'Malley Clan, got her name and how she divorced her second husband.

View the portrait of the beautiful Maud Gonne MacBride, the inspiration of Yeats love poetry. Learn of her connection to Westport, through her husband, Major John MacBride, the executed 1916 leader.
